Cultivate your FREEDOM through Psychotherapy!

I’ve been thinking a lot about freedom lately. How to really live a vital, thriving life? How does the caterpillar become a butterfly? This is the exploration, the invitation at the foundation of the new psychotherapy work I offer based on the Hakomi Method of experiential psychotherapy.

I invite you to schedule a psychotherapy session with me so I can help you experience this essential freedom and vitality. By exploring what arises in the present moment through body-centered psychotherapy you can access the truth of who you are = free.

I am now offering Hakomi-based psychotherapy sessions on a sliding scale of $50-$90 per Hour. Please call me with any questions and to schedule a session today. Experience freedom!

I Completed the Hakomi Training!

After two years of incredible study and personal transformation, I have completed my training in the Hakomi Method of experiential psychotherapy!
I completed the Hakomi Training!

It’s been a truly amazing journey for me. Not only do I feel very well equipped to offer help and guidance to my clients as a therapist, I feel humbled to offer these skills from a more authentic and vulnerable place. I am utterly amazed at how much I’ve changed in the past two years as a result of this training. It’s truly been a gift, and one that I am excited to share with you!

I love this work!
In the past two years I’ve already seen how powerful this gentle approach is and intend to continue with my studies and the Hakomi organization. In fact, as I celebrate the completion of my own training I am beginning a new journey as a Teaching Assistant in the next two year training that just started in Boulder! I am honored to be a part of the team, and with deeper involvement it is my intention to become a Certified Hakomi Therapist (CHT) in the next couple of years.
But for now, please join me in celebrating this completion by letting others know about this life-changing work! Get involved! Get trained! Come in for a session and experience the work! You will not regret it.
With excitement and an open heart,
Lucien

Are you having a Nervous BreakTHROUGH!?

A client and I were discussing the value of falling apart… the very real dis-integration that happens when we are learning to move from a set of habitual behaviors towards making new choices.  When we’ve left the relative safety of the known defense and are swimming in unknown waters.  It can feel like an utter breakdown; urgent, scary, uncertain.

So I said, ”A friend of mine (well known Gestalt therapist) likes to say, “Breakdown preceded breakthrough.”

My client replied, “Well, a friend of mine likes to say, “I’m having a nervous breakthrough!”

I just LOVE that saying!  Having our hearts and minds WIDE OPEN during the periods of uncertainty and change is what helps us land safely on the other side.  Openness makes the difference between breakdown and breakthrough.

How do we stay open when it hurts the most?… with love and support.  The support of loving friends, a trusted therapist, our community.  Most importantly, a place where we can slow down, turn inside, and give ourselves the opportunity to see new choices spontaneously arrive in consciousness.  The combination of moving consciously toward our experience in the presence of love and acceptance is what makes the difference between nervous breakdowns or gently breaking through to new possibilities.

Therapy is essentially about freedom.  The freedom to be who we truly are.  So if you’re feeling like you’re about to fall apart and shatter, move consciously, please reach out for love and support.

With love,

Lucien

2010: Turning Point… A Passion for Psychotherapy.

.
Dear Friends, Clients, and Loved Ones,
Thank you for an amazing year!  By all measures I had my best year ever as a therapist.  Thank you for trusting me with your wellness and your unique healing journey.
2010 was a major turning point in my career as a therapist and a healer.  Following my passion for people and their stories led me to expand my skillset into the field of psychotherapy.  Towards the end of 2009 I began a 2-year training in the Hakomi Method of Experiential Psychotherapy and thus began a real love-affair with this work!

I used to think of myself as a bodyworker who was very passionate about people’s process and psychology.  Now I realize that I feel much more like an emerging psychotherapist who has a lot knowledge and experience in the body.  As 2010 comes to a close I feel myself clearly headed towards a career in body-centered psychotherapy.  As a result I feel more energized and impassioned about my work and my path as a healer than ever before.

In 2011 I will begin incorporating more Hakomi-based psychotherapy into my bodywork sessions.  I will also begin offering stand-alone Hakomi-based psychotherapy sessions to new and existing clients.  (Please feel free to ask me about this new work and how it can help you!)

WHAT ABOUT MASSAGE?  Not to worry!… It is my intention to continue to offer great massage and bodywork.  Getting clearer about my passion for psychotherapy does not mean leaving behind massage and hands on healing work.  Taking this next step simply means expanding my offering so I can continue to serve you in the best way possible.  Over time I hope to have a healing practice that is 2/3 psychotherapy and 1/3 massage and bodywork.
Above all I have a passion for helping each person on their unique healing journey.  In the end my central question as a healer will always be, “How can I help you?”
Here’s to your health, Truth, and happiness in 2011,
Sincerely,

Lucien

A New Chapter! – Registered Psychotherapist

.
I received notification this week that I am now in the database as a “Registered Psychotherapist”.  What this means is that I can legally practice as a Psychotherapist and incorporate psychotherapeutic process into the body of work I offer my clients.

My work has been heading that way for years, and now the time has finally come to launch this new part of myself.  This is simply another step towards acknowledging who I am….

I am a therapist, a healer.  That’s what I do, that’s who I am.

…and I LOVE it!

Helping people is my passion and my purpose, and this is just another step along the way to emerging fully as a therapist in the world.  And yes, I am still practicing and offering Massage Therapy, I’m simply adding another tool to my body of work for those who want/need it.

So, please join me as I celebrate this symbolic moment!

     with love,

     Lucien

Hakomi Training Starts November 5th!

Looking forward to the start of the Hakomi training this Thursday November 5th!  Hakomi (Hopi Indian word that means “Who are you” or “How do you stand in relation to these many realms”) is a body-centered experiential psychotherapy developed by Ron Kurtz and his associates over the last 3 decades.  To read more about it visit the Hakomi Institute‘s website I’m very excited to begin implementing this work into the healing and bodywork I already do with my clients.
